Master/En-suite Before

So this set up is kind of confusing. I am playing catch up right now trying to show our projects real time. Currently the master suite is complete but I will be sharing the process in a few different posts.
I previously wrote about my inspiration for the master which you can read here https://thatsso70s.blogspot.com/2018/10/master-suite-inspiration.html. I will now show some before pictures of the project as and talk about the original plan. Because I suck I didn't really take any before or many during pictures which I now regret. So in future, note to self, document more!
Here are the pictures of the space from the reality listing which my real-estate agent kindly sent to me. Thanks Michael!

The first picture is the 4th bedroom that was next door to the master. This room was quite small and could realistically only hold a twin bed pushed into the corner and a small dresser. We decided to knock down the wall between the two rooms and use this space for additional into in the master. The next two photos are of the master bedroom and it was a narrower bedroom. Once we moved in and put the bedroom furniture in, it was quite clear more space was needed. We could only fir the queen bed on one wall with the night stands. The dresser would not fit. And seeing as the original closet would be used for the larger en-suite, it made sense to eat up the smaller bedroom.
The bathroom in the last picture was, I think, gross. It had carpet. CARPET! That to me is so so disgusting. We had all the carpets cleaned before we moved in but I still refused to use the bathroom prior to demolition. As we tore out the carpet we found there was previous brown shag carpet. THEY REPLACED CARPET WITH CARPET! Why? I guess it was the thing to do, but gross. This space was also very small for us as the bathtub/shower was squashed beside the toilet which was stuck beside the sink. Only one person could fit in at one time and make it difficult for drying off post shower and getting ready for work in the mornings. I was so anxious to start this project and am so happy how it turned out.

Master Suite Inspiration

The inspiration I have for our updates are modern farmhouse, modern, and cozy. I have been stalking through Pintrest and Instagram for ideas and have so many things I love and hope to incorporate into our home. Below I will insert pictures off my Pintrest board (which I use as a vision board) for each room. If I know the source I will embed them in the picture, but I have mainly seen these off Pintrest and unsure of original source. Master Bedroom I really wanted this space to feel calm, relaxing, cool yet warm and comfy. I have a hard time sleeping already so anything I can do to help myself get in the mood for some long zzz's I'll do it.              En-suite En-suite bath we really wanted to make it functional for our needs. I don't take baths really so having a bathtub would not be the most practical of choices so we opted for a large walk in shower. I also really liked the idea of having between stud built in shower storage. I though...

About Us

Before I divulge into our home buying process I thought I would give you a quick blurb about us and our background. Incase you did not know. Which most of you do.... I work as an administrative assistant in health care. This job is great for my need to want to help others and allows me to be super OCD, organized, and at times bossy, however lacks creativity. I remember always loving interior design. As a child, like 8 years old or something one of my favorite TV channels were HGTV. I loved watching TLC's Trading Spaces, House to Home, and Debbie Travis' Facelift. I remember writing to interior design and host House to Home telling her how much I loved her show and how I wanted to be an interior designer just like her. Which is still true. I feel like I am a very practical/logistical person. If being and interior designer was a guaranteed good earning job I would be all over that. Along with being terrible at math is a bit of a set back as you need the highest high scho...

Master Bath Finishes

Today I am talking all about finishes, what we (me) chose for the master bath reno. This includes everything from paint, tile, lighting, doors and hardware, and bath fixtures. Paint In the bathroom I chose Benjamin Moore's Intense White (OC-51). As I mentioned earlier it was really important for me to keep the bathroom light and as bright as possible since there is no natural light. When you are in the shower or getting ready early morning in the dead of winter when the sun has not come out, you really want to be able to see what you are doing. To accomplish this I chose an off white colour with grey tones to coordinate with the grey undertone of the vanity wood stain, grey colouring in the floor and the marble hex shower tile. The doors and trim colour is Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace (OC-65) . Tile We purchased our tile from Tile Stone Source ; Snow An was our sale representative. Bathroom Floor: 12X24" matte porcelain tile in Aura Frost Shower Floor: 2"...
