Master Bath Reveal

ITS THAT TIME! We are finally showing off the completed master bathroom transformation. I say this because I feel like it truly was a transformation. It is NOTHING like it used to be and almost everything is brand new. We have been living with it for a few months now and I am OBSESSED and we are so proud of our hard work. We love to show it off when we have friends and family come to visit and I have had a few comments of "shower of dreams". UGH! I love hearing that because it really is for me.

Before
I HATED this old space. I refused to even use it. It was so cramped, you couldn't even get dressed or dry your hair in there. And I HATED the carpet. The main reason why I refused to use that space. So so gross.

After

Its hard to believe that the entire bath used to fit in the toilet room and shower space area. I love the extra space we now have.
I cannot express how much I love our bathroom or which is my favorite part, as it kind of all is. The bathroom is so functional for our needs. I love having a double sink. I love that I don't have to take turns rinsing after brushing. I still have to remind myself I do not need to time when I start brush vs. when he starts brushing. I used to do this to try and coordinate ourselves with sink times so neither of us are standing with a mouth full of tooth paste. I love the separate toilet room so the bathroom is still usable when the other is needing the facilities. I love our extra large shower. I love that there is a bench in there and I have some where to prop up my foot while shaving and I love the niches that perfectly store our shower products. I love the tile and paint colours and the bathroom is still very light and there is no lighting is seeing issues.
I just love the bathroom and it was worth all the head aches and mental breakdowns.

Master Suite Inspiration

The inspiration I have for our updates are modern farmhouse, modern, and cozy. I have been stalking through Pintrest and Instagram for ideas and have so many things I love and hope to incorporate into our home. Below I will insert pictures off my Pintrest board (which I use as a vision board) for each room. If I know the source I will embed them in the picture, but I have mainly seen these off Pintrest and unsure of original source. Master Bedroom I really wanted this space to feel calm, relaxing, cool yet warm and comfy. I have a hard time sleeping already so anything I can do to help myself get in the mood for some long zzz's I'll do it.              En-suite En-suite bath we really wanted to make it functional for our needs. I don't take baths really so having a bathtub would not be the most practical of choices so we opted for a large walk in shower. I also really liked the idea of having between stud built in shower storage. I though...

About Us

Before I divulge into our home buying process I thought I would give you a quick blurb about us and our background. Incase you did not know. Which most of you do.... I work as an administrative assistant in health care. This job is great for my need to want to help others and allows me to be super OCD, organized, and at times bossy, however lacks creativity. I remember always loving interior design. As a child, like 8 years old or something one of my favorite TV channels were HGTV. I loved watching TLC's Trading Spaces, House to Home, and Debbie Travis' Facelift. I remember writing to interior design and host House to Home telling her how much I loved her show and how I wanted to be an interior designer just like her. Which is still true. I feel like I am a very practical/logistical person. If being and interior designer was a guaranteed good earning job I would be all over that. Along with being terrible at math is a bit of a set back as you need the highest high scho...

Master Bath Finishes

Today I am talking all about finishes, what we (me) chose for the master bath reno. This includes everything from paint, tile, lighting, doors and hardware, and bath fixtures. Paint In the bathroom I chose Benjamin Moore's Intense White (OC-51). As I mentioned earlier it was really important for me to keep the bathroom light and as bright as possible since there is no natural light. When you are in the shower or getting ready early morning in the dead of winter when the sun has not come out, you really want to be able to see what you are doing. To accomplish this I chose an off white colour with grey tones to coordinate with the grey undertone of the vanity wood stain, grey colouring in the floor and the marble hex shower tile. The doors and trim colour is Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace (OC-65) . Tile We purchased our tile from Tile Stone Source ; Snow An was our sale representative. Bathroom Floor: 12X24" matte porcelain tile in Aura Frost Shower Floor: 2"...
