Slowly but surly the master suite started to look like a livable space. It took up from February to June to be at the point for drywall to hang. The drywall and ceiling took I believe 2 weeks to completion and as soon as it was done I was painting.
We started by moving out of our bedroom to one of the guest bedrooms, this room could only fit our bed which we had to skootch by the end of the bed and wall to access the closet. The dresser and my makeup station was in the other guest bedroom. We lived there for 5 months. When it was time for drywall we moved our bedroom to the main level, in the back living room where the fireplace was located. This was alright as we could fit all furniture in the room, and having the sliding back door open at night was nice to help cool us off in the hot summer nights. I did miss sleeping on our bed frame. When we moved down stairs we didn't bother setting up the bed as it was temporary. We slept there for another 2 months.

After I painted the bathroom walls, we were given this water proofing that I painted all around the shower. We chose to use concrete board in the shower instead of green board for better longevity and water damage prevention. Technically you don't have to water proof on concrete board like you would the green board but our tile guy told us to, just an added layer of protection.
I paid very close attention to the shower cubbies and board joints. I did one layer over the walls, and SEVERAL layers in the joints and cubbies. I made sure to pack the product in until there were no visible gaps. Darrel installed the vanity before tile installation so we didn't "waste" money by putting flooring underneath a cabinet.
Once this was done it was time for tile! We used N&C Construction and Renovation Ltd. and could not recommend them enough, they do beautiful work.
I LOVED how the tile was coming together. Every day I would come home from work to see the progress that was made. Squeal to myself and do a little happy dance, which made the tile installer laugh.
After tiling was complete I moved onto paint the bedroom. You can read about the drama I had with painting here, as long as you don't lean something against the wall, ITS FINE!....ugh.
